Pakistan and Algeria have been pursuing a deeper bilateral economic and trade partnership. In 2024, Pakistan’s overall exports to Algeria amounted to approximately $22.6 million, of which cotton, textiles, garments, surgical instrumentation, and henna made up a significant portion. To foster economic relations, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Algeria’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) established a Joint Business Council (JBC) in 2022. The JBC will enhance bilateral engagement with opportunities for direct exchange between the business communities of the two nations, direct business involvement, and investment, and promote joint business ventures in sectors like pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and renewable energy. Furthermore, at the 55th International Fair in Algiers held in 2024, Pakistan participated in the fair with stalls to demonstrate Pakistani products in textiles, surgical materials, electronics, and more, and the products have the potential for growth of trade opportunities between the two countries.
