Pakistan and Azerbaijan are steadily strengthening their business and trade relations through strategic cooperation. In 2024, bilateral trade witnessed a 22.5% increase, reaching $22 million, with Pakistan exporting goods worth $21.8 million to Azerbaijan. To further enhance trade connectivity, both countries signed a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) and a Transit Trade Agreement (TTA). Azerbaijan has also pledged a $2 billion investment in Pakistan, focusing on key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and mining. Additionally, the inauguration of the Azerbaijan Trade House in Lahore is expected to boost trade volumes and introduce Azerbaijani products to the Pakistani market.

Baku and Islamabad have established the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Chamber of Economic Cooperation (PAKAZCHAM) to enhance bilateral economic ties. Membership will soon be open to businesses from both countries, with a permanent office based in Baku. At the chamber’s inauguration, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev announced plans to open a trade representative office in Pakistan. He emphasized the chamber’s role in boosting trade, investment, and business partnerships. High-ranking Azerbaijani officials and business representatives attended the event. The chamber aims to promote trade, support education, and foster stronger business links. In 2020, bilateral trade totaled $13.2 million, with continued growth into 2021. Pakistan has also expressed strong political support for Azerbaijan, especially during the 2020 conflict with Armenia and in reconstruction efforts.
